The main tribe photo reminded me- blackberries should be ready right about now!
I want LOTS! Yum yum blackberries....
Where are good (free) places to find wild blackberries growing, preferably in the East Bay/Berkeley sorts of areas? The Albany Bulb has a bunch growing wild, but I'm sorta wary of blackberries grown on an old industrial landfill site. Ick.

I believe some blackberries grow up here in Oakland on Snake Rd. close to where it meets Skyline.

Mon, September 25, 2006 - 7:44 AMah yes....
I think they can be found in the Oakland Hills along trails and what not.
As a kid we always had them growing around our hood here in Oakland.
I have not seen a bush in a long time though. -

Re: Blackberry patches?
Mon, September 25, 2006 - 7:46 AMI have had the most wild and crazy bush going in my backyard. Got some lovely berries off of it a few weeks ago, and then the other tenant in our building cut it back. Knowing blackberry bushes, it will be back. They never go away.
